WH Landscape Consultancy Ltd was founded in 2008. Our aim is to provide the highest standards of professionalism. We pride ourselves on our customer service and delivering meaningful results, ensuring that our work specifically addresses the requirements of each client and every scheme. Our extensive knowledge of the landscape and arboricultural sectors underpins our core values in ensuring that we provide a personal approach to client needs, balanced with a respect for the natural environment.
We are an established team with the skills and experience to undertake a broad range of schemes for both private and public clients. We are able to deal with small and large scale projects, often working in sensitive landscapes, where innovative design and a comprehensive understanding of landscape character are key.

Will Harley BSc (Hons) CMLI
Director
Will is founder and a Director of WHLandscape. He is a highly experienced Chartered Landscape Architect who has worked in both the public and private sectors for over 30 years.
Will worked Landscape Officer for Kennet District Council for over 18 years, dealing with strategic and specific landscape issues through the planning process prior to moving to private practice. He also has worked on numerous commercial and residential projects, as well as agricultural, equestrian and defence projects. He is experienced in dealing with landscape issues relating to planning applications in sensitive areas and requiring Environmental Statements.
Will also has a BSc (Hons) in Botany and Zoology from London University, which enables him to tie landscape issues to the conservation and enhancement of habitats and biodiversity.

George Harley BA (Hons) MA CMLI
Director
George has been working at WHLandscape since 2008 and is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.
He studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire while continuing to work at WHLandscape, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours). He completed a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire in 2014 and has gone on to be involved in a wide range of projects, focusing on the technical aspects of landscape assessment, including Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments.
His work covers all sectors, with a focus on developments in highly sensitive landscapes and large-scale agricultural, quarrying and residential schemes. In 2019 George became co-director of WHLandscape, taking the lead on business development.

Seb Macleod NCH Arb Dip Arb L6 (ABC)
Arboriculturist
Seb started working for WHLandscape in 2018, providing high quality tree surveys and arboricultural advice.
Seb began his career in arboriculture in 2001 when he completed his National Certificate in Horticulture/Arboriculture (with Distinction) at Cannington College, Somerset. At the same time he built up his arboricultural knowledge and practical experience in climbing whilst working for a large contracting company operating throughout the south of England.
Throughout his career Seb has been involved in providing arboricultural services for private and public clients, developing his practical knowledge of tree health and safety.
He is adept at carrying out BS 5837 tree surveys for development sites, and producing professional reports to accompany planning applications and condition discharge.
Seb gained his Lantra Professional Tree Inspection certificate through the Arboricultural Association in 2015 and completed his QCF Level 6 Diploma in Arboriculture (ABC), with Tree life AC, in 2018, for which he was awarded the accolade of Best Student for the ABC Awards Level 6 Diploma in Arboriculture, for the year 2016-17.

Ellie Sims BA (Hons) MA CMLI
Landscape Architect
Ellie joined WHLandscape in 2019 after changing careers from primary teaching, and has gone on to become an integral part of the team.
She studied Landscape Architecture at Writtle University College, completing her Master's degree in 2019. Through Ellie's studies she developed a passion for Landscape Architecture, with her dissertation focusing on the design of a nature inspired pre-school setting, bringing her two careers together.
Ellie is also interested in heritage landscapes and preserving them in innovative ways for future generations to enjoy. In 2023, Ellie completed the Landscape Institute's Pathway to Chartership subsequently becoming a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.

Laura Barker-Johnson
Office Administrator
Laura has worked at WHLandscape since 2021 after working as an Office Manager for a Telesales Department. She knows the true importance of excellent administration and building strong relationships with both staff and clients, combining the skills she used previously as a manager to help with the day-to-day running of the office.
She is new to Landscape Architecture and is enjoying learning all about this new sector, dealing with all office and company administration, and any other duties associated with running a successful landscape practice.
